Om and salutations to the inner radiance of your being! 

Many of us have felt that we were once more standing on shifting sands over the past couple of weeks as huge lessons were being given to us, enabling a release of old patterns.    The apparent turmoil which many are experiencing is throwing even those usually well centred beings into a state of flux.  Let us try to see this for what it is; for on the level of reality, nothing can be harmed,  though on the level of form we feel at times challenged, threatened, and everything we try desperately to cling to falls to dust in our hands.  So what can we learn?  This is a great time to allow everything which is no longer serving us to rise up to the surface, experience and let go. 

If we can have the awareness that problems occur in the mind, we can realise too that whatever we perceive as a problem, does have a perfect solution.  As fear rises up it often causes different scenarios to play in the mind.  Rather than allowing these scripts to run, un-fettered, we need to learn to recognize when the mind is running away with itself and find a way to halt the process.

So how best to achieve this?  The Masters encourage us to still the mind (which is, of course the essence of Yoga).  If this seems too great a challenge the technique of replacing a negative thought with a positive one is also beneficial.  In the Yoga Sutras (Book 2 Sutra 33) this is known as Vitarka Badhana Pratipaksha Bhavanam (translated as: When disturbed by negative thoughts, opposite [positive] ones should be thought of).  This technique has been practised by yogis for centuries, to good effect.  Whenever you recognise that a negative thought has arisen in the mind, replace it with a positive thought, saying, “however, a more positive way of seeing this is …”  With a little practice we can re-train the mind and this good habit will have a far reaching effect on our Peace of mind.  

By using such techniques we can come more into our heart energy.  Thus allowing the one perfect scenario, created by the Higher Self, to unfold, in the present moment.  Rest in the knowledge that everything is revealed in its right time and allow the Peace of your true Self to permeate all levels of your being –  its Light dissipating all shadows and darkness.

With this in mind, there is an important date for all of us next month on 11.11.11 … the message, clearly, is Oneness and much has been written on the subject.  I believe this date affords a fantastic opportunity for us to join together in groups, or individually to tune in to the Unity of all Creation with an open and loving heart.

The energies of summer have bathed us in their radiance, and now we take the opportunity to breathe in the falling shades of autumn as climate and mood shift perceptibly, offering us shorter days and longer evenings to sit down with a a good book or a favourite meditation.  Autumn offers a time for us to take stock after the high-energy phase of summer, allowing us the opportunity to focus on regeneration, renewal and healing.  As the sun loses height, shadows lengthen, reminding us that we need to take stock now, as nature does, drawing in our energies, centering ourselves in this period of transition.  Often there is the temptation as winter approaches to draw inwards, and this has tremendous benefit, but let us also offer something of our inner radiance to each other as we come together for prayer, meditation or roll out our yoga mats with a feeling of community and belonging.  

 For my part I am delighted to be collaborating with The Light and Energy Channel (www.thelightandenergychannel.tv) to produce a series of channelled Archangel Chakra Balancing Meditations, featuring the beautiful channelled music of Thaddaeus.  This series of seven meditations will be available to purchase through the shop on my webiste, either individually or as a set.  As a taste of what you can expect, we are offering a free MP3 meditation download which is designed to compliment the series and serves as a great introduction to the seven major chakras, their locations and colour associations.  To access the meditation follow the instructions and the link at the end of this e-mail.  We hope you enjoy and would love to receive your feedback.

Integral Yoga^® is a synthesis of the various branches of Yoga. It is a comprehensive system for the harmonious development of every aspect of the individual.  The limbs of Yoga all of which are contained within the Integral Yoga^® system are:

Hatha Yoga
Focuses on the physical aspects through asanas (postures), pranayama (breath control), mudras, kriyas, yogic diet, and deep relaxation.

Raja Yoga
Balance and control of the mind through ethical practices, concentration and meditation.

Bhakti Yoga
The path of devotion, by constant love, thought, and service of the Divine. Bhakti Yoga can be practiced by everyone. All that is needed is faith and constant remembrance of God.

Karma Yoga
The path of action and selfless service. Serving without attachment to the fruits (or results) of the action.

Jnana Yoga
The intellectual approach. Through the knowledge of what really exists, that is, what is not changeable, one who engages in the Path of Wisdom realizes Oneness with the entire Universe.

Japa Yoga
Japa means repetition of a mantram – a sound structure of one or more syllables which represents a particular aspect of the Divine Vibration.

We have so many reasons to be joyful during our time here together.  As the summer sun rises higher into the sky overhead (albeit resting behind cloud sometimes) let us also rise up ourselves and enjoy expressing our true nature together, which is love. 

Some of us are experiencing heightened  feelings of  uncertainty during the current phase of transition, as if we are standing on shifting sand.  What can help us to overcome these feelings is the idea that what is shifting is our awareness as the veil of illusion lifts to show us glimpses of the true nature of reality.  

In times when we feel that we need something to anchor ourselves onto, let us then commit to focussing on that which is steadfast and eternal, the LOVE which is the core of our being and which surrounds us at all times.  Meditation can be a powerful tool to access that eternal Truth of the Self which transcends all layers of illusion into which fear and guilt are woven by the ego – but it is important to remember that they are just an illusion.  For me, the spritually-based Integral Yoga practice with its focus on Vipassana (seeing things as they really are) is also a powerful tool to assist in transcending the body/mind vehicle and allowing revelation of the Peace which resides within.  Just five minutes meditation practice each day can have a dramatic effect on the level of inner Peace which we experience individually, allowing us to live as a true expression of our perfect being.

Meditation
 
(Do feel free to use this meditation individually or as a group, allowing sufficient time at each stage to feel the energies.
Find a comfortable place to sit and close your eyes, or if you are reading this, close your eyes between each stage.)

Om and Salutations to the Radiant One who resides within. 

Allow your attention to come inwards and rest on the breath for a few moments.   Follow the breath, exploring its gentleness.  Let your attention rest there in that space for a while. 

Now let the attention move into your mind’s eye, or brow chakra, located in the centre of your forehead.  Let it rest there, and as it does so visualize a point of light, so clear and beautiful, immediately facing you. 

The light may look like a star but its brilliance is far beyond anything you have witnessed in the night sky.  It has a luminous quality, and although you are dazzled by its brilliance, you can also feel that it is deeply benevolent and holds a great Love for you. 

As you hold the point of light in your mind’s eye, notice that it is glowing brighter.  Allow the Love of this beautiful being to enter into your own body so that it permeates to the very core of your being.  Feel its gentle guidance nurturing you and healing you.  

Enjoy the feeling of bathing in its radiance.

Feel that in this moment there is nothing that you cannot do, no goal that cannot be achieved.

The light has completely transformed your being.

Now gradually shift your vision to observe the point of light in front of you again and you notice that what you actually saw was your own light, reflected by a mirror. 

You have been looking at your own reflection, for you are that point of light.  Feel the beauty and perfection of your own being.  Now it is reaching out beyond the confines of your physical body and flooding out into the space where you are meditating. 

Rest in the Peace of your true Self for as long as you wish.

When you are ready to end the meditation, bring the awareness once more to the breath.  Gently lengthening the breath, then taking in a full, deep, cleansing breath.  Wiggling the fingers and toes and opening the eyes when you feel ready to do so.

Meditation Sessions

Weekly Meditation Group is Friday 10.30 am -12.00 pm.  Advance Notice – Chakra Balancing, a 7 Week Journey.  For anyone interesting in balancing the chakras, there is a fantastic opportunity over 7 weeks, commencing Friday 10 June, to work through the energies of one major chakra per week in this  meditation session.  Using crystals, mantras and  visualization techniques to explore, balance and harmonise these energy centres.  I will be channelling meditations during each session, inviting the energies of the Archangels and Ascended Masters to work with us on this healing journey.  Relaxed, friendly group and each session ends with time for a cuppa and a chat .  £6 per session.  Please book early as space is limited.
